Optical Microscopy

The Optical Microscopy facility provides scientific and technical expertise in light microscopy, in particular in the use of complex state-of-the-art microscope systems for the recording and analysis of light microscopic data. Support and training in making preparations for light microscopy, including suitable labeling strategies, and in the recording and analysis of data will also be offered. The facility has a special focus on fluorescence nanoscopy techniques, and is run by Dr. Elisa D’Este.

Key Instrumentation:

  • 2D and 3D STED nanoscopes with depletion lines at 595 nm, 660 nm, and 775 nm for multi-color imaging, with RESCue and DyMIN imaging modalities
  • 2D and 3D RESOLFT nanoscope for imaging of photoswitchable proteins
  • MINFLUX nanoscope for multicolor 2D and 3D imaging and tracking
  • Multiphoton confocal microscope
